Faculty support for teaching online: It takes a village

The growth of online courses and programs has increased the need for faculty to gain the necessary skills to make online courses a success. However, many faculty members in higher education have limited experience with teaching online. Compounding this problem is the lack of support to help them transition to the online environment. To overcome this issue, two organizations have developed online resources and communities of practice to help faculty at all higher education institutions become effective online educators.

This session will showcase the resources developed by Contact North | Contact Nord and the Online Learning Consortiums to support faculty and demonstrate how these two organizations have positively impacted the online teaching practice of faculty members through a series of case studies.
